No prior dance experience necessary to join adult classes. Wear comfortable workout clothes and shoes.
ADULT CLASS SCHEDULE:
Tuesdays @ 6:05-7:00pm - Adult Hip Hop
Thursdays @ 6:20-7:15pm - Adult Floor Barre & Cardio Dance
HIP HOP is a fun, high energy dance style. The first section of class will be dedicated to warm ups. Hip Hop is a style that combines street dance with funk, popping, locking and other popular variations of the dance form. Students will learn the importance of strength, musicality, isolations and dynamics to execute movements. Dance combinations and choreography will be taught throughout each class.
FLOOR BARRE is a great low impact workout to strengthen your core, back and legs. Floor barre uses the principles of a traditional ballet barre, whilst lying or sitting on the floor instead of standing at the barre. This change of position decreases the pull of gravity, which allows you to focus on your technique and target the strength in specific muscles. This makes floor barre a great way to improve your technique and target specific muscles. If you are new to dance, floor barre will help you learn how to engage the correct muscles and alignment when dancing. If you have been dancing for awhile, floor barre is an effective way help you improve your strength and technique. Our floor barre class will end with standing choreography for a cardio dance workout to complete the lesson.
